Casual Tutor Adult Education

Wokingham Adult Education Service is looking for experienced adult education tutors to deliver non-accredited community learning courses from various community settings across the borough and online.  Courses are run in school hours and in the evening.

About the job

You will work closely with the Community Learning Coordinator to design, plan and deliver engaging courses which stretch and challenge our learners.  You will also prepare learning materials and undertake administrative tasks linked with teaching including recording attendance and learner’s achievement. 

Our curriculum covers a wide range of adult education courses from family learning to employability courses and we are seeking casual tutors to teach any of the following courses:

  • ESOL 
  • Adult Literacy
  • Maths for work or jobseeking
  • Employability skills 
  • Introduction to working in social care
  • How adult social care works - aimed at carers
  • Family Learning - Supporting parents to deal with child or teenage anxiety
  • Family Learning - Supporting new parents
  • Healthy Lunchboxes / Healthy cooking for families
  • Introduction to working in Hair or beauty
  • Introduction to coding

Please specify in your application the range of the courses you have experience in delivering.

About You

You must hold a recognised teaching qualification in adult education at level 3 or above, and ideally have experience of teaching adults.

You should be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching adults and must also be prepared to travel to different venues and work independently without direct supervision.
