Attendance Targeted Support Team Leader
£51,903 - £54,975
On 6 May 2022, the Department for Education released new non-statutory guidance, “Working together to improve school attendance” to help schools, trusts, governing bodies, and local authorities maintain high levels of school attendance and improve consistency of support. We are expanding and developing Newham's current Attendance Management Service to be able to deliver the new expectations.
In this new role, you will lead the implementation of the reforms to establish and develop a high performing team delivering both statutory and traded functions to all schools (maintained, academy and independent) to achieve or maintain outstanding school attendance. You will act as the champion for school attendance across the council and other agencies, ensuring that all relevant partners make promoting good school attendance part of their business; and safeguard the welfare and education of children. You will lead a team of around 10-12 staff with both statutory and traded functions, including direct line management of two deputy team leaders.
This role is suitable for an experienced leader with proven expertise in improving school attendance and working collaboratively with school leaders across all sectors.
