A rare opportunity has arisen for a Tree Officer within the Development Management department at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
The Development Management department is dynamic, high performing, fast paced and plays a fundamental role in shaping the attractive and varied townscapes and environments of the Borough. The department (and Planning Services as a whole) operates on a positive and “open for business” approach, with good working relationships with elected Members and a priority to maintain the image of a ‘Green Borough’.
The main role of the Tree Officer is to deal with applications under the TPO legislation, to assess trees for suitability of new TPOs and to support planning officers to produce development that strengthens the aim to create a suitable green environment for all.
We are looking for a positive, energetic, and conscientious person, preferably with relevant Local Authority experience in a similar role to join the team to help improve and deliver the future development of the Borough.
The Tree Officer is essential to the delivery of the high-quality service that we offer and is supported by other specialist officers within Planning Services as well as the wider planning team.
Planning Services is operating a flexible working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office and the opportunity to work at home for the remainder of the week.
