Senior Solicitor/Barrister/FCILEx (Childcare)

Birmingham Children’s Trust continues to grow from strength to strength.

We take pride in offering a high quality and proactive legal service. It is your determination to provide a top-class legal service, and to get best outcomes for children which will matter most.

Grade 6 Senior Solicitor/Barrister/FCILEx position is open to those with management responsibility. Taking responsibility for the more complex and difficult cases and providing guidance and support to other members of the team. Conducting advocacy on contested and non-contested cases.

We work on an agile basis and are currently based at Lancaster House, Birmingham.  Our working arrangement combines the opportunity to work remotely, subject to business need, and the requirements of the role to attend Court hearings and meetings in person.

We know and understand that this is hard work, and challenging at times, that’s why we reward you with a very attractive employment offer.

The Trust has invested in its legal practice across the years, in both growing the capacity of the team and strengthening its capability at a senior level.  This has also enabled the Trust to provide our solicitors and legal assistants with a strong framework of support at induction and with their career progression.

Alongside regular supervision, access to training and shared learning, mental health, and well-being support, we offer a wider range of benefits including competitive rewards and pension, a generous annual leave package with 29 days leave, plus bank holidays; Car Leasing Scheme; to name a few.

The Birmingham & Solihull Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) here in Birmingham will provide you with an opportunity of experiencing the successes of an alternative family court for care proceedings.

If you would like to be part of our passionate and dedicated Children’s Trust Legal team, then don’t hesitate and apply today.

You will be experienced in public childcare law either from private practice or another sector.

Interviews will take place 13th and 14th February 2023
