Spelthorne has an exciting opportunity for a skilled, experienced local authority lawyer who is seeking to develop their career in a dynamic leadership role within the in-house legal team.

We are looking for a lawyer with a proven track record of leading a complex property and development workload to support the Council’s priorities for managing a diverse and complex property portfolio and development strategy. You will have great communication skills with an ability to deliver high quality support and advice to colleagues and officers of the Council, as well as to members at committee meetings.

You will be ambitious and forward thinking with a passion for service improvement and will have a clear focus on continued career development for the team. You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the area of local authority governance as you will be the designated Deputy Monitoring Officer.

This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.
