Property Officer

Salary £23,194 pa - £25,409 pa

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Property Officer to provide day to day support to the Estates function within the Estates Service at Mid Sussex District Council, dealing with property related queries, rental invoicing, debt management and reporting, maintenance of property related systems and provision of plans.

Working as a member of our Estates team, you will assist with administering and maintaining our database and updating all property management records, daily monitoring of the property mailbox advising the Team Leader of all new enquiries, updating all tenant records with lease event changes and manage the property diary system ensuring rent reviews and lease renewals are actioned in a timely manner.

The role involves extensive liaison with colleagues in other departments and external stakeholders, so excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.  As well as a sound understanding of tenancy and property management, you will be expected to demonstrate invoice and financial account management. The role will suit someone who is well organised, with a knowledge of finance and property and can work at pace when required with a varied workload.  We are looking for a team player in our friendly team who can enjoy the rewarding work and benefits that the Council has to offer.

Not essential but should candidates wish they can advance towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. TechRICS, MRICS, ARLA); and further training opportunities exist for the right candidate.

If this opportunity sounds like the role for you we’d love to hear from you.  If you would like any further information, or have any questions about the position, you should contact Stephen Gwilliam, Estate Surveyor & Team Leader on 01444 477277.
