About the role
This new role is responsible for the delivery of excellent payroll services to the Association and its employees. Leading a small team responsible for the delivery of a first class payroll service including pensions management, dealing with emerging issues, system & service developments & improvements, and liaison with payroll service provider RSM. The Payroll Manager also needs to be a hands-on payroll processor especially in times of staff absence on holidays / sickness.
The Payroll system we use is IRIS Payrite software.
Who we are looking for
We`re looking for someone who:
- Has recent, relevant experience of managing payroll team
- Good payroll technical knowledge and experience including Statutory payments
- Is able to understand and interpret policies, procedures and relevant legislation relating to pensions regulations and guidance, eg SHPS Pensions, NHS Pensions, LGPS etc
- Has a hands-on pro-active approach to service delivery; planning ahead
- Has experience of operating a computerised payroll system of broadly similar employee size
- Has a good attention to detail and can work to tight deadlines
- Is able to handle confidential and sensitive information and,
- Has great communication skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external people at different levels
