37 hours per week (hybrid working)

Do you have great interpersonal and negotiation skills? Are you confident in working with large volumes of data and supporting the Council in delivering its objectives? Do you relish a challenge? If so, we’d like to hear from you.

We are seeking a Buyer to support the Procurement Manager in delivering financial savings and ensuring compliance with internal rules and UK procurement legislation.

You will be responsible for managing all lower value procurements and identifying financial savings that can be realised using developed negotiating skills. You will work across all service areas looking at areas to amalgamate spend and develop strategies to realise savings using several different techniques.

You will monitor expenditure and work with colleagues to ensure compliance with internal rules and procurement legislation.

You must be able to be to demonstrate experience of working within a public sector procurement department and a good knowledge of public sector procurement processes and procedures.

You should also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to be able to negotiate and discuss the challenges with internal customers and external contractors.
