Drive improvement in building safety

As a building safety project manager you will have a key role in delivering our building safety objectives. Working across the team you will have a varied and interesting range of duties. You’ll oversee the collation, distribution and control of data across the department and from our supply chain. Organise cladding and building safety inspections, external wall reviews and issue remediation instructions, you’ll drive continual improvement in resident safety. Working on the development of building safety cases, developing communication strategies for residents and managing specialist consultants to help review our buildings.

Provide expert project management

The work we need to do is far-reaching and varied. We have more than 80 high-rise blocks and a large number of low-rise buildings in the Borough. So the portfolio offers unique challenges and opportunities – informed by the results of our building surveys. Within this setting, you’ll manage building safety cases, and advise on the assessment, review and approval of construction methods, building materials and their installation – you will provide insight on defect identification and remedies.

For this role you will need:

Knowledge and experience of building construction methods and materials.

A demonstrable understanding of building regulations and the requirements of the Building Safety legislation

A clear understanding of the requirements of the Building Safety Bill and other emerging requirements, regulations and guidance.

Knowledge of the requirements for good building safety management and processes

Good stakeholder engagement knowledge and experience.

Excellent project management knowledge and experience.

Experience of successful project management.

Possession of a demonstrable track record of delivering results on time, to a high quality.

Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in private/public sector in a property maintenance, housing or construction environment.

Experience of dealing with complex construction projects. · Essential – Proficient in MS office suite of programmes.

Analytical ability associated with the management of data, the understanding and interpretation of which is key to the delivery of programmes to deliver assurance.

Health and safety qualification, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.

Education, Training and professional development to support continuous learning

Write clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders.
