Senior Instructor – Permanent - £25,409- £28,371 / pa. Flexible working, generous leave, outstanding pension scheme, work laptop and mobile phone.
Dinton Pastures Country Park, near Reading, Berkshire, is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the senior team at the newly opened, multimillion pound NetZero carbon activity centre building.
Dinton Activity Centre is a thriving local authority centre. The centre handles a high footfall and is a hub of outdoor recreation in Berkshire. The centre houses a large dinghy fleet of over 30 boats, and an array of paddlesports equipment ranging from kayaks to giant paddleboards. Dinton is home to a brand-new clip and climb indoor wall, a 12m high outdoor high roped facility and outdoor archery range.
Ideal candidates will hold multiple awards in climbing, paddlesports and sailing and have substantial experience working in a commercial centre. It would be preferable if a candidate held multiple of these awards or had experience in the other activities such as archery, fencing or environmental education. A background in equipment maintenance, sports development or centre management or administration would be desirable.

- First Aid 8hr

As a Senior Instructor we will expect you to lead groups of clients, individuals and staff as required by the Activities Manager, and to make sure that these activities meet the standards required in the centre operating procedures. You will also be responsible for developing the activity programme, applying for funding grants and liaising with NGB’s about participation uptake data.
As part of the centre management team you will occasionally be required to deputise for either the Centre Manager or Activities Manager, and lead on customer care. Other responsibilities will include centre administration, front of house duties, resource allocation, session planning, and risk assessment reviewing, and equipment checks. You will also be expected to manage training and development opportunities for instructors, offsite events, and coordinate maintenance tasks. The team of instructors that you will be looking after currently stands at around 40 individuals, with a wealth of experience and diversity between them.
Over the winter months the candidate will be involved in analysing the course statistics, developing and expanding the programme for the following year and producing creative content for marketing material. Other off-season duties will include the procurement of new equipment, maintenance of existing and the development of our staff team as well as running in indoor climbing wall and assisting on room hires.
