Based on this, we are looking for a senior Project Manager to develop and deliver a large programme of regeneration at pace.

About the role

This role will be responsible for project managing the delivery of a two-estate regeneration scheme: Hayes Town Centre Estate and Avondale Drive estate. The approved scheme is for a phased redevelopment of these sites to deliver upwards of 740 new mixed tenure homes including replacement social rented homes for the existing residents.

Key aspects of the role will be overseeing and working closely with the secured development partner on the design and planning strategy, marketing/letting proposals and engagement strategy. It also includes the coordination of the council's obligations in terms of leasehold acquisitions and decant, the disposal of sites on a phased basis and acting as strategic partner in examining the feasibility of potential pipeline estates.

The role will require robust governance practices and will report directly to the Corporate Director of Place, providing regular comprehensive project updates and formal reports to the Council's senior management team and Cabinet as required.

About you

You will have a proven track record of achievement in developing and delivering capital regeneration/development projects.

You will lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams on a day-to-day basis and manage all aspects of project including acquisitions, programming, project finances, reporting, risk, procurement and project administration. You will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to resolve project issues and ensure delivery.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing a project plan in line with the Council's agreed specification and for overseeing consultants and contractors appointed to deliver the project. You will also be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive engagement strategy to support the project's implementation.

You will be responsible for ensuring project delivery meets design, health and safety, quality and sustainability objectives in line with procurement and financial procedures.

You will have the confidence, skills and experience to effectively lead and deliver this high value, high profile project for Hillingdon Council.

You will possess broad and in-depth expert knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national and local policies, and the changing landscape around planning and regeneration.

You will relish challenge and will bring energy and pace to the delivery of our ambitions, using your experience and skills to foster successful partnerships and engagement with a range of colleagues and stakeholders within and outside the Council.

You will also possess excellent commercial skills and a high degree of political sensitivity.
