Legal Officer

Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment where no two days are the same? Are you skilled in office administration with an interest in the legal sector and dealing with claims?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a legal officer to join our Civil Litigation Team.

The role

The focus of the post is on investigating and dealing with a case load of property damage claims, providing a high level of customer service and assisting Lawyers who run a varied case load of civil cases.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will possess a good level of skill and expertise from within an office environment, good customer service and inter-personal skills and be confident in the use of various computer applications.

The candidate should have an interest in the legal sector, be highly organised, flexible and focused.  A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively.

Duties are varied but will include investigating low level property damage claims, drafting letters and documents, dealing with members of the public and administrative tasks for other Lawyers in the team. Full training will be provided.

What we can offer

We will help you learn new skills, encourage your development and work with you to reach your potential, all within a friendly and welcoming environment where no two days are ever the same and we all want to succeed together.

We are offering a competitive salary of £21,968 - £23,194 along with a pension, a comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes, cycle to work, civil service sports council membership and many areas for professional support and development.

The council has a smarter working policy which does provide a great degree of flexibility between home and office working. This post does however require some office attendance on a weekly basis, which is currently is one day per week each Wednesday when all team members attend the office.
