Are you looking for a training opportunity to work in Finance?

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The work of Local Government has a direct impact on the quality of life of Britain's most vulnerable people, including providing social care to vulnerable adults and children, providing housing to the homeless, equipping those on the fringes of work and pursuing local sustainability. We’re innovating and changing how we deliver services to better meet the needs of our community so it’s an exciting time to join us and get involved in these projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in accountancy. Our program supports trainees to become fully qualified chartered accountants, balancing studying for the CIPFA (The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) qualification, alongside making an important contribution to the finance team. You will gain valuable skills and experience in a fast paced working environment; learning accounting processes, supporting vital front line services; and gaining a grounding in audit and the controls required to manage a large organisation.

You will join a supportive family of trainees, based in our cutting edge modern offices next to Wembley stadium. You will start on a salary of £30k, with rapid progression as you achieve the key milestones in your training and career plan.
