Adopter Champion

Permanent, part time - 4 hours per week

Based in the South East, with occasional travel to our Reading Office

Salary Range: £2,572 to £3,144 per annum (full time equivalent range of £23,793 to £29,079 per annum)

We have been at the forefront of adoption services for over 60 years, working with local authorities across the country.  With our outstanding Ofsted rating, we work with a high degree of flexibility and innovation and a range of adopters from all backgrounds.

The Adopter Champion role is part of a team of experienced adopters who are passionate about adoption and provide support to adopters at different stages in their adoption journey by giving advice, guidance, encouragement and signposting.  

We are looking for an adopter with experience of adopting a child/children for a period of 6 years or more, and with experience of overcoming challenges within your own adoption journey.

You should have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and communicate effectively by telephone, email and via video calls.

It is also important that you have an understanding of the variety of issues an adopter may be faced with including a child’s emotional and behavioral issues, therapeutic parenting techniques, the impact of Early Developmental Trauma and Attachment Disorder, and the importance of self-care.
