Customer Services Advisor (Full Time)
We are currently recruiting for a Customer Services Advisor to join our Customer Services team based at Tonbridge Gateway, set within the grounds of Tonbridge Castle. If you possess excellent customer service and communication skills and wish to be part of a dynamic team at a time when there is exciting change and improvement in how services are delivered to our residents and visitors to the borough, then this job is for you. You will also be part of the team delivering our commercial Castle operation including Castle Attraction and shop as well as our tourist information office.
Reporting to the Gateway & Customer Services Manager, the job involves working in the Council’s call taking team as well as in our reception, dealing with enquiries received face to face, over the phone and electronically through varying channels.
Tonbridge Gateway offer a multi-agency service to customers of Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, Kent County Council services, and a range of partners from the public and voluntary sectors.
Educated to GCSE grade C standard or above in maths and English, you will have previous experience of providing a customer focussed, front-line, public enquiry service. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and demonstrate confident IT skills.
There is a lot to learn, so you must be prepared to assimilate and retain a large amount of information quickly and demonstrate a “can-do” approach to your work. In return we will give you ongoing training and support.
Your normal hours of work will be 37 hours per week Monday – Thursday 09:00 -17:00 and Friday 09:00 – 16:30, however our Castle attraction is open seven days a week so you will be expected to work some weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
