Caretaker/Site Manager

Site Manager, Grade 5, actual salary £20,781 per annum

The Head Teacher and Governors at Witton Church Walk CE Nursery & Primary School are looking to appoint a school Site Manager who is enthusiastic and who will take pride in our popular school.

The position would require the successful candidate to undertake the efficient maintenance and manage the health and safety of our school. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding person with the necessary expertise and initiative to deal with the challenges of managing and maintaining the school premises.

The Site Manager will supervise the cleaning team and the role will include an element of cleaning and maintaining the high standards we have come to appreciate as paramount.

The post is 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, and involves working a split shift pattern working 7.00am – 8.30am and then 12.45pm – 6.15pm.

You would also be required to secure the school building after school events which may be in the evening and at weekends and take annual holiday entitlement during school holidays and also be the lead for alarm call outs.

We are looking for a self-motivated, friendly approachable person with a ‘can do’ attitude and preferably previous experience in a similar role, to start as soon as possible.  Applicants with electrical, plumbing and/or joinery skills with knowledge of health and safety legislation will be particularly welcomed.  We are looking for someone who has the ability to recognise the daily repairs we inevitably encounter, liaise with suppliers, monitor health and safety standards, undertake training where necessary and still have time to chat to the children!  In return we will value the contribution you will make to our school, appreciate all you do and say thank you.

Please contact Mrs Foulkes, Bursar, on 01606 663610, should you require any further details.  Application forms and further information is available on the school website and returnable to admin@wittonwalk.cheshire.sch.uk.  We will only accept Diocesan application forms.

Closing Date & Shortlisting: 12.00am, Tuesday 28th March 2023

Interview Date: Morning of Thursday 30th March 2023

The school is committed to safeguarding children and the post is subject to stringent vetting, a full enhanced DBS disclosure check and satisfactory references.  Please note that the permanent appointment will be subject to a satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
