About The Team:
Hounslow is a community of communities. With a unique blend of picturesque open spaces and excellent transport links – it’s no wonder over 250,000 people call it home. As one of the most culturally diverse areas in the UK, the needs of our residents, businesses and stakeholders can be varied and complex.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of a front line facing, multi-disciplinary team who tackle a range of issues including noise, statutory nuisance, waste and fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour and other environmental and social community concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
1.You’ll be required to promote behaviour change through encouraging residents, the general public and businesses to proactively keep their neighbourhood safe and clean.
2.You will have direct line management responsibility for officers within the Neighbourhood Enforcement Service, tasking duties, personnel management and overseeing the day to day operations of your team and the service.
3.You will be visible to the public during your work shifts and proactively undertaking intelligence gathering, networking, CCTV monitoring and uniformed patrolling activities.
4.To lead on all HR, performance and disciplinary issues of officers for which there is line management responsibility.
Your Skills:
1.Expert knowledge and understanding of legislation, statutory instruments and good professional practice relevant to environmental crime, anti-social behaviour, statutory nuisance and pollution issues.
2.Ability to deal with confrontational situations in a courteous, confident, calm, impartial, assertive and safe manner in all situations encountered by the team, and to always respect confidentiality of those involved.
3.Ability to record data accurately, undertake investigations, prepare reports both manually and by using electronic means, make recommendations and prepare evidence for legal proceedings.
4.Ability to reason, analyse and take appropriate decisions based on interpretation and application of legal guidance and frameworks.
Essential for the Role:
1.You must be prepared to work morning, day, evening or night shifts on any day of the week, including Bank Holidays.
2.You must have a full driving licence in the UK.
3.DBS check is required - Baseline Personnel Security Standard
