The SEND Team requires a SEND Officer to support our increasing workload. The team is responsible for ensuring that the LA’s statutory responsibilities towards individual children and young people with SEND are met.
The main duties associated with this post include writing EHC plans using assessment advice and managing the annual review process.
The successful candidate would also be responsible for providing information to support the LA’s decision-making panels and liaising with parents, young people and a range of professionals from education, health and social care. The role includes attendance at and chairing of meetings.
The successful candidate will also support the top up funding process. We are a busy team and deal with sensitive, and at times, difficult situations. The successful candidates will have good organisational and interpersonal skills, have experience of similar work within a public sector and will need to be able to travel within North Somerset and further afield to support out of area placements.
