About Us:
We are looking for an ambitious finance professional to support the delivery of an effective business partnering function to budget holders across the organisation.
You will support the efficient use of resources through assisting in the preparation and monitoring of revenue and capital budgets, the production of the annual accounts and providing quality and timely financial advice to colleagues. You will also inform the medium term financial plan and contribute to the appraisal of options and development of business cases for new investment proposals.
You will be AAT qualified (or equivalent) with experience of working in a finance environment, not necessarily within local government, and you will have good oral and written communication skills, the ability to analyse financial information and experience in the use of financial management systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to enhance their skills, knowledge and expertise whilst obtaining experience to help further develop their career.
We offer excellent working conditions including a generous holiday entitlement, a comprehensive pension scheme and access to an Employee Assistance Programme, providing advice on a range of issues including financial and legal matters, and offering discounts on purchases from numerous retail outlets.
We also offer employees reduced gym membership at Gedling’s Leisure Centres.
Gedling Borough Council embraces flexible ways of working to ensure that we can attract the best talent and get the most from our employees so, as we transition to new ways of working, hybrid/homeworking options are available subject to the business needs of the role.
The Borough of Gedling comprises the towns of Arnold and Carlton and surrounding parishes, bordering Sherwood Forest to the north, the river Trent to the south east and the city of Nottingham to the southwest. The Borough has a lot to offer residents and visitors from heritage to modern community facilities. The Council offices are situated in an award-winning park located in Arnold, a suburb of the city of Nottingham.
