Hours: Various hours up to full time (37 hours)
Contract: Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to work within the North Somerset Single Point of Access Team (SPA). This post is integral to our success in developing new ways to deliver services. The successful applicant will be able to contribute to how therapy services are delivered across the county. We operate a 5 day per week service, Monday - Friday and offer flexible working opportunities.
The service provides timely advice, information and triage of referrals received to adult care and community health services, in addition to community based DFG and OT Bathing clinics. Single Point of Access is recognised as critical in the delivery of effective, time sensitive services to the residents of North Somerset and we are continuing to develop the service further to ensure we are achieving excellent outcomes for all.
We are currently developing our strengths based, proportionate approach to assessment to actively enabling choice and independence for residents. A significant proportion of referrals are resolved at the point of contact through the provision of advice and guidance, signposting and the provision of equipment or minor adaptations. We offer clinic-based assessments at our equipment and demonstration centre where you will be a key member in increasing capacity at these clinics and further developing our existing offer.
Your personal and professional development is important to us. We offer regular supervision and training opportunities to support your professional development and maintain registration requirements including professional forum and leadership from our Principal Occupational Therapist.
All applicants must be registered Occupational Therapists and ideally would have post graduate experience working in any relevant setting. We will consider newly qualified OTs with the right skills, for development in role.
North Somerset includes the coastal towns of Weston-super-Mare, Portishead and Clevedon as well as the beautiful North Somerset Countryside. North Somerset borders Bristol at the gateway to the South West and offers a great environment in which to live and work.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
