Primary School Counsellor

Counsellor - September 2023 – NJC Outer London Scale 6 (pro-rata actual salary £26,483)

At the Agate Momentum Trust, we want our children to feel confident, to enjoy learning, to see themselves as successful lifelong learners and to have responsible attitudes towards themselves and others. We have an ethos of high aspirations, high achievement and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated school counsellor to provide a high-quality counselling service to our children and their families. You will be expected to create a relationship of trust with our pupils and their families enabling confidential dialogue to aid children’s emotional independence, resilience and mental wellbeing.  Experience of working with young people is essential.

You should be self-motivated to develop innovative responses to changing mental health needs and provide quality information, advice, support and signposting where appropriate.

Applicants must have a recognised qualification in counselling, and be accredited, or working towards accreditation, by the BACP, UKCP, or an equivalent body.

This post is to start in September 2023, at the start of the academic year.  Working hours will be between 8am and 5pm, to be agreed, working across both Hallsville and Scott Wilkie Primary schools.  This position is offered for 36 hours per week, term time only, with actual working hours to be agreed according to the needs of the schools.
