Support worker (22.5 hours per week)
£13,653 pa
We currently have an opportunity at our brand new scheme 34 Alexandra Road In Hemel Hempstead.
We are looking for a part time support worker to work 3 full days per week.Core hours will be 8-4, 9-5 or 10-6 although this may be flexible according to the needs of the service.
About the Role
As a Support Worker you will be working as a part of a dedicated team, providing personalised support and assisting the residents to develop the skills needed to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
If you have previously worked in a care setting and have experience of providing support to vulnerable homeless people, this role could be perfect for you.
With relevant experience, you will have the ability to recognise the wishes of our service users and communicate with them effectively. Demonstrating respect for confidentiality and a caring attitude, you will also use your own initiative, carrying out practical and administrative tasks as and when required.
Job responsilities include:
- Assessing referrals
- interviewing
- Conducting health and safety checks
- Providing support through linkworks
- Drafting support plans and risk assessments
Candidate must have good IT skills as will be needed for role.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of providing support to vulnerable people
- Provided advice, guidance and support to homeless individuals
- Positively engage with and sustain appropriate relationships with individuals who are often unwilling to engage with services
- Deliver practical housing related support through structured link work
- Work on own initiative and as a part of a team
- Act calmly and respond professionally in stressful and difficult situations
The service has 9 self contained flats for those who have been homeless or in temp accommodation from Dacorum Council.
