More about this employerCommunity Care Officer Level 2 - OT Service Duty Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an occupational therapy duty worker to work as part of a newly formed OT duty team.
The duty process is the 'front door' for the OT service and as such is the first step in the client's journey.
This is an exciting time to be involved in the occupational therapy duty team as it is a new team within the service.
About The Role
The Duty Team Community Care Officers are the first point of contact for service users with the LCC OT Team. The team gather accurate information remotely to assess service users’ needs and requirements before either providing the required advice and guidance or assigning cases needing comprehensive OT assessment to the relevant team box, documenting clear clinical reasoning.
You will be developing links and working relationships with other therapy services to ensure the right service is involved at the right time and in an effective and timely manner.
Through a proportionate duty assessment, you will determine cases appropriate for direct provision of equipment and will progress as appropriate.
This position will ideally be based from Lancaster House. However, there could be agreement to work from the Gainsborough office or from home (once training is complete).
About You
Although experience within an Adult Care position would be beneficial, it is far from essential as we can provide training on the technical elements of the role.
What is essential for this role is;
- Excellent communication skills, this is a remote role so mindfulness of communication is paramount.
- Excellent active listening skills, you must be able to hear what is not being said too.
- Advanced questioning skills.
- An open, approachable and honest outlook.
- A self-starter, who can manage their own time and workload effectively.
A full person specification is available within the attached Job Description.
About The Team
Our locality teams consist of an OT Lead Practitioner, Advanced Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Community Care Officers. Our Offer
This is an unmissable opportunity to join our dedicated and highly experienced team, where you will benefit from on-going support and guidance to aid you in your journey towards meeting your goals within this highly rewarding service.
Along with a competitive salary we are offering;
- A Contributory pension

- Career progression opportunities
