We are seeking a Litigation Lawyer to join our busy and friendly in-house legal team to help us shape and modernise the service and the wider Council in delivering its core services to the community. The role provides the opportunity for career progression to a senior level.

Essential to your success in this role will be experience of housing, planning, local government law and debt recovery litigation. This will include advising on all aspects of housing management, local government law, planning law and effective recovery of outstanding debts to the council. You will be involved in working closely with our Teams to prepare and present cases at court.

A confident and persuasive communicator, you’ll be a strong team player with the ability to foster and build positive relationships at all levels.

It is essential you are a qualified solicitor with a practising certificate or be eligible to obtain a practising certificate.  In the latter case the jobholder must obtain a practising certificate within 6 months of appointment to the role.

Barrister or Legal Executive or hold an equivalent qualification.
