Would you like the opportunity to become a senior officer within the busy Revenues & Recovery Team at Adur & Worthing Councils that deals with the billing, collection and enforcement of Council Tax and Business Rates?
Income from Council Tax and Business Rates is an increasingly important element of the money that the Council requires to finance the services that it provides for local residents and businesses, in respect of approximately 84,000 properties, across both councils.
We are looking for an experienced person who is energetic and enthusiastic with appropriate legislative knowledge and IT skills to help the team leader ensure that the high work volumes are organised effectively, updating accounts and dealing with complex queries. You will be customer-focused helping residents and businesses in writing, face-to-face and by telephone.
You will need good mathematical and analytical skills and be able to deal with complex matters both by post and email in an assertive but empathetic manner. Experience of working in a local authority Revenues & Recovery environment is essential although further appropriate training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Basic DBS clearance and three years employment referencing.
