About the role / service

Halton Borough Council’s Benefits Division are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious team player to the position of Control Officer within the Controls Team to help deliver a professional service to the Revenues and Benefits service areas within the Finance department.

The Benefits Division pays housing benefit and council tax reduction to over 12,000 residents in the borough and the Revenues service collects council tax from over 58,000 people in Halton.

Your main role will be to assist in the reconciliation of financial reports and outputs relating to the Revenues and Benefits service areas. You will also be assisting with the daily operation of the systems across these two service areas.

About you (the prospective candidate)

You must be reliable, confident and able to work in a busy environment communicating with council staff in different service areas.

You will possess a high level of written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to make decisions.

You will have a good working knowledge and experience of I.T. systems.
