  Housing Needs Officer (Homelessness) – Ref (HNO-FTC)

12 MONTH CONTRACT

Salary up to £33,939.36 pa depending on experience

 

These vacancies provide a great opportunity to join Broxbourne Borough Council’s Homelessness Prevention Team, on a fixed term basis.  Are you a highly professional and enthusiastic person who wants to work for an ambitious and innovative Homeless Prevention Team? You will work alongside dedicated experienced colleagues, interviewing and assessing those who are at a risk of being homeless. Working with them to identify housing solutions to prevent homelessness. The role requires case management and working collaboratively with others including partner agencies.

 

If you are interested in applying for these roles you should ideally have previous experience working within a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation, although transferable skills will be considered.  You should also be highly motivated, with a genuine interest in helping people.  Previous experience working in a customer-facing role is essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication and a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Fluent spoken English skills are also essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations with customers and meeting their expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required.
