Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide general support to our SENCO. This will predominantly be through the provision of in-class support to individual (or groups of) students, helping them to develop and achieve their full potential (under the direction of the class teacher). Experience and/or qualification in the English curriculum would be an advantage. You must have good numeracy and literacy skills and have experience of working with or caring for children between the ages of 11 and 18. To have completed the DFE Teacher Assistant Induction programme would also be an advantage. This post would be particularly suitable for anyone who might be interested in joining the teaching profession. Applications are also welcomed from those who would like to be considered on a job share basis.
Edgbarrow School believes in setting the highest standards in all areas of school life and we are looking for a purposeful and committed individual who wants to join and enhance our strong team. We offer an excellent induction programme, and a highly supportive working environment. For those candidates interested in career development, there will be opportunities to progress onto the HLTA pathway. The LSA role would also qualify in the admissions process for your child to attend Edgbarrow if you live out of catchment. This would come into operation after 2 years of service.
Edgbarrow School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is essential that all members of staff and volunteers share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for all posts.
Edgbarrow is located in the village of Crowthorne, Berkshire. It is a thriving, vibrant and high-achieving secondary school where students are polite, happy, well behaved and motivated. It was recently judged by Ofsted as outstanding.
