Social Worker - Adult Social Care

There are a number of vacancies within the Prevention Team which include a 12% salary enhancement to work unsocialable hours. This work would include working evenings until 8pm, weekends and bank holidays.

Knowsley Adult Social Care is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Social Workers to join a dynamic local authority which is seeking to transform the way that services are delivered.

There are opportunities to work within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, Mental Health, Hospital Discharge, Prevention, Communities and Review Teams.

It is an exciting time to join adult social care with friendly, experienced and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to providing a service that puts citizens at centre of our work.

Applicants will be will need to be experienced in (or have the ability to) undertake all aspects of care management.  You will be required to undertake assessments of need to determine eligibility under the Care Act 2014 and support planning from an asset based approach in order to meet the needs of vulnerable residents.

There are opportunities to work with all client groups and and in various service areas (e.g. hospital discharge, mental health , prevention, communities, MASH etc) Please indicate on your application form if there are areas of particular interest to you.  We will discuss with you at interview your preference for which team you would like to join.

Applicants will need to be social work qualified (or due to qualify during 2021) and professionally registered as a social worker (or in the process of registration following recent completion of a qualification programme) with Social Work England.

You will be provided with regular supervision and access to an excellent training programme.  There are opportunities for more experienced social workers, such as training to become an AMHP or Practice Educator, and enrolment on management and leadership training courses.  Knowsley Council invests in their staff, this is an opportunity to join a local authority who will support your development.
