Experienced Social Worker Here4U Team (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

We are committed to our social workers having caseloads that give them time to focus on relationship based practice.  To reflect this we are seeking experienced, permanent Social Workers who have a passion for working with and improving outcomes for children.

The Social Worker role – This position is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to cover an internal secondment. You will work as part of a team to provide a first-class service to children and young people to improve their outcomes whilst in care and as care leavers. This includes acting as a case manager, developing positive working relationships promoting high aspirations and preparation for adulthood and independence.

The Here4U team strives to provide high quality care, support and guidance to children in care and care leavers.   Being a member of this team presents limitless opportunities to make a huge difference to the lives of children in long-term care and care leavers.  Whether this be in foster care, residential homes or semi-independent provision the team support children and young people to ensure they receive the best possible opportunities in life.  They strongly promote the development of independence skills to make sure young people transition effectively into adulthood.

Wokingham Borough Council is based in Wokingham Town Centre, an attractive market town in Berkshire, with excellent road and rail links and is easily accessible from London and Reading. The Borough has good schools and low levels of crime and the town is attractive to families and residents, who enjoy a high quality of life. The Here 4 U Team have their own building situated in the Woodley area, which is a welcoming and homely environment.
