About Us:

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual to play a key role in managing development projects in Ebbsfleet Garden City; ranging from employment and residential led schemes, community buildings, to parks and public realm schemes.

The Development Manager will provide development, delivery and commercial property negotiation expertise through all stages of the development lifecycle so as to drive forward the delivery of key projects.

Information About The Role:

The Corporation operates a hybrid working arrangement whereby staff mix working from home and the office.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage identified development projects through the development lifecycle including project initiation, business case development, planning and design development, land acquisition, development partner procurement / land disposal / direct delivery and completion as appropriate

Manage and coordinate teams of external advisors and consultants including preparing briefs, budget control, providing day to day instruction and project oversight

Manage and report on project level financial budgets, maintaining appropriate records and ensuring full transparency, liaising closely with the Programme Management Office and Finance Team

Manage developer procurement and/or delivery partner selection processes and oversee and manage ongoing development implementation

Manage direct engagement with project partners and support the process to secure legal agreements that support project delivery

Engage with Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust on the long-term operation and stewardship of the assets delivered as part of the identified development projects

Engage with Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust on the long-term operation and stewardship of the assets delivered as part of the identified development projects

Liaising with the Corporation’s Asset and Facilities Manager as required on matters associated with the sites

Identification, negotiation and securing of income generating opportunities for the sites aligned with EDC objectives

Prepare advice and reports as required and present to Directors, Infrastructure and Investment Panel, Project Boards and EDC Board

Support the development of relevant Business Cases through EDC internal approval processes and Government – DLUHC/ HMT approval

Location: The Observatory, Castle Hill.
