Salary: £26,845 to £29,586 per annum pro rata 
Hours: 37 hours per week 

Base Location: Hybrid and various schemes across Central Bedfordshire   

Contract Type: Permanent

About the role: 

An exciting new job opportunity has become available for the right candidate to join us as a Housing Operations Assistant within Independent Living at Central Bedfordshire Council. Independent Living is an integral part of Housing Services which lies within the Social Care, Health and Housing Directorate. This role has become available following a change in focus which has created a dedicated ‘Independent Living Team’ delivering services primarily for our customers aged 55 and over. 

 

We are an aspirational and forward-thinking team, responsible for delivering quality housing and support to the customers who live in our Independent Living Schemes. We also provide community-based housing support and a tenure and age neutral emergency alarm service.

The Housing Operations Assistant will play a key role in supporting customer engagement and satisfaction, they will provide a ‘champion role’ to the wider team for operational systems and have knowledge of the different social media platforms to reach and engage with our customers. The Housing Operations Assistant will help support service improvement and development, for example implementing activities, helping reduce social isolation and improve the overall health and wellbeing of our customers. They will assist the Housing Operations Officer and Independent Living Service Manager with delivering key objectives to drive the service forward, including exploring external funding opportunities, external partnerships/contracts and volunteering. 

 

You should be able to communicate, advocate and negotiate effectively at all levels to produce results that enable our customers to live well independently.
