Team Leader - Homelessness Prevention and Advice (1 Year FTC)

Elmbridge, like most councils in the country, is working to support an increasing number of people presenting as homeless and in need temporary accommodation.
As an experienced, Housing Team Leader, you will work to prevent homelessness where possible in Elmbridge. You will manage a team of Homelessness Prevention and Advice officers, providing support, direction, and case supervision as necessary to ensure that the Council meets its legal duties under homelessness legislation and the achievement of targets and timeframes for prevention and relief duties.
You will support our community by maximising housing solutions and work with key partners and clients to secure and sustain accommodation.
You will be joining an organisation determined to put its residents first and committed to supporting its employees. In this role you will ensure good customer service delivery, giving advice on complex/ difficult cases as needed to your team and act as a Reviewing Officer for homeless decisions including for the final duty owed, as necessary. You will attend regular meetings to help us decide on the most suitable applicants for temporary accommodation as it becomes available providing details on individual cases to assist in this decision. You will have regular contact with various agencies who help support and accommodate those who become homeless.
