Finance and Business Performance Manager
Hackney Council’s Parking Services are recognised as the one of the UK’s leading local authorities in tackling CO2 emissions, improving local air quality, and promoting sustainable transport.
Over the last two years we have played a central role in rebuilding a greener Hackney, which has seen us implement traffic schemes such as school streets, low traffic neighbourhoods and bus gates across the borough to reduce car journeys, improve road safety and reduce air pollution. We also work in close collaboration with other Hackney services to deliver initiatives such as Car Clubs, cycle hangars, and electric vehicle charging points, to support the move away from diesel and petrol powered vehicles and achieve the 2030 net-zero carbon objectives.
Our ambition is to achieve the best for our customers and to do this - following the recent re-organisation of Parking Services - we are looking for an experience Manager with the energy, passion and experience to bring our Three Service Promises to life: provide fair customer outcomes, get things done right first time and to simplify and continually improve our processes.
This role will be responsible for leading the service’s new Finance and Business Performance team, with overall responsibility for ensuring sound financial management within the Council’s Parking, Markets and Street Trading Services, including budget setting, budget monitoring and accounts closing together with lead responsibility for driving Business Performance, making sure that the service’s Key Performance Indicators are achieved, and that underperformance is rapidly addressed.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, this post will be responsible for directly managing a team of three officers. The post holder will need to be a clear communicator with significant experience in providing accounting or financial monitoring, and a track record in providing great services to customers, and performance management.
