Senior Social Work Assistant - East ASTI

Working with our dedicated Children’s Social Workers and multi-agency professionals, you will actively promote the welfare of Birmingham’s most vulnerable children, young people and their families; through the direct delivery of high quality services.
We currently have a vacancy within our East ASTI team.
You will play a key essential role in assisting social workers to safeguard and promote the needs of children and families who are subject to care proceedings, child protection or child in need plans depending on the service you work in.
You will assist with the completion of statutory assessments, supervise contact and advise children and their families about help and support that is available to them. You will obtain, record and critically analyse all relevant information, taking appropriate action where necessary; as well as providing practical day-to-day support; which may take the form of home visits and direct work within the family home or community.
You should be confident in using a range of computer software; experience in your direct communication written and verbal skills. A flexible approach to your workload is essential, as you will work with your local and wider teams; as key links in partnership working with professional agencies to achieve overall improved outcomes.
You will be experienced in working with vulnerable children, young people and their families in a support/advisory role and be knowledgeable in safeguarding and Children’s services processes and legislation.
