The role sits within the Transactions & Systems team within the Finance Directorate.
About the Role
As a Transactions Officer you will work collaboratively with team members to provide a high quality and efficient finance service to internal service areas and external customers and suppliers.
Transactions Officers undertake fast and accurate processing, recording and posting of the Council’s transactions using the Civica Financials system. You will also be responsible for ensuring that various reconciliations are completed accurately.
Hours and location of work are to be mutually agreed with the hiring manager. Your office location will be Surrey Heath House (remote working may be possible at specific times as agreed with the hiring manager).
We require a casual officer for approx. four months to help support the team whilst a system implementation takes place.
About You
Ideally you will hold an AAT or equivalent accountancy qualification and have a basic understanding of Local Government Services and Regulations and VAT. Although not essential, experience of the Civica Financials system would be an advantage however training will be provided.
You will have prior experience in either Accounts Payable or Accounts receivable, be reliable, accurate, have good attention to detail, be confident and have the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
You need to present a professional and competent image at all times and be able to express ideas or facts clearly. You will have good interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills.
You need the ability to plan and prioritise your work and be able to work concurrently on a range of tasks to meet deadlines. You will provide regular updates on workload status and raise any issues in completing tasks to deadlines.
