Azure Systems Administrator

About Us:

To work as part of the IT & Information Team with a focus on supporting TfN’s Transport Appraisal, Modelling and Economics (TAME) team. Core activities include:

Microsoft Azure systems support.

Microsoft Office 365 support, including SharePoint.

Supporting a team of data analysts by providing advice and technical assistance on data processing activities. Support with software development tools such as Anaconda and Visual Studio.

You can expect to be involved across all three activities above, however the main focus of the role is supporting TAME analytical requirements.

As an Azure Systems Administrator you will be required to support and maintain our Azure environment and to support the TAME team as set out within your role profile below.

You will be expected to collaborate with others to deliver outcomes and contribute to the improvement of existing processes and procedures within the organisation.

A high level of effective communication skills will be required. You will be the bridge between the IT & Information team and the TAME team, working with both internal and external stakeholders, assisting and supporting their needs in terms of Azure environment incidents and management (virtual machine creation, VPN support, software installation, backup, patch management).

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrable experience within a similar IT support, systems administration, security & data compliance role within cloud and desk-top based environments. Competent use of Microsoft Azure cloud services. Virtual machines creation, VPNs, Storage accounts, backup and patch management and experience of ITIL aligned Service Management Processes. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office365, O365 Admin Centre and knowledge of server and application platforms.
