Starting Salary: £27,344 progressing to £30,151 pa
Hours: 37 per week

HCC Services for Young People’s purpose is to enable young people to succeed through the delivery of targeted prevention and early intervention to address emerging needs, improve life chances, and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive services. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood. This post provides young people with the support to increase their employability skills.
Job Duties:
To provide employment, training and work-related learning activities support to young people through:
- Job and work experience brokering
- Marketing vacancies
- Enhancing employability skills
- Carrying out Health and Safety assessments within workplaces
This is a varied role working as part of a team and will include direct contact with local employers to source a range of work-related opportunities for clients and after appropriate training, carry out Health & Safety checks with employers to support work experience placements.
You will work with a caseload of young people who are not in employment, education or training, providing employment and training opportunities through job brokering and marketing vacancies. You will enhance the employability skills of young people by offering a range of services to include CV writing and interview preparation.
You will have excellent verbal, written and ICT skills and a flexible approach to your work; be able to demonstrate experience of building relationships and networking with employers; the ability to build rapport with young people and evidence of working with them individually and in small groups; have a proactive approach and the ability to advocate and negotiate; you will have an understanding of the issues facing young people who are unemployed and be able to demonstrate how you have effectively challenged stereotyping or other discriminatory practice.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own car is essential in order to travel independently
