Due to the teams expansion LCC are delighted to announce we have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Delivery Project Officer to join our Waste Services team on a full time permanent basis.
Waste Services is responsible for the disposal of municipal waste in the county. This includes the operational responsibilities for waste infrastructure which includes Waste Transfer Stations and Household Waste Recycling Centres. The role of Waste Delivery Project Officer will be responsible for construction projects relating to waste infrastructure across the county.
About the role
We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful and effective delivery. You will be comfortable working at a strategic level with multiple partners and stakeholders internally and externally, influencing key decisions and championing change in a challenging environment.
This is an important role that requires leadership on the Asset Management Plan for LCC's Waste Facilities and delivery of Waste Infrastructure Projects together with their maintenance, development and redesign of sites in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and Environment Agency requirements.
About you
The ideal candidate should be Chartered or Incorporated with the Institution of Civil Engineers with a proven track record in project management. Experience of designing facilities and obtaining planning permission is essential, along with site supervision and budget management experience.
Whilst the usual experience, education, knowledge and technical ‘know how’ are all pre-requisites, the ability to lead, manage and inspire a project team with the right culture, is just as critical. Likewise, is the ability to form and continually develop long term relationships with internal and external partners.
The successful candidate will also be able to express exceptional influential, negotiation and analytical skills, project management and leadership skills able to work across a range of different work streams, displaying the necessary professionalism and confidence to work with other organisations, district partners and Senior Officers.
About the team
You will work alongside 3 other Waste Delivery Project Officers responsible for project delivery in Waste Services together with one other Waste Delivery Project Assistant and will be led by the Waste Operations and Infrastructure Manager.
