About the Job

We are looking for experienced Children’s Lawyers to join our Community Care Legal Team. Based in Havering, but willing to travel to other offices when necessary, you will be a qualified lawyer with a good understanding of the workings of local government including its financial, legal and political context.

On a day to day basis you will use your legal knowledge of local government powers and duties in children’s social care, safeguarding and related areas to provide quality and timely legal advice to clients both within Havering and Newham.

At present, we are all largely working from home and ordinarily operate flexible working arrangements.  You will be expected to be able to attend both Newham and Havering’s offices as part of your duties. Legal Services’ core location is at Newham’s Dockside offices.

About You

You will provide legal expertise in child care law; contributing to the delivery of high quality, solution focused legal work, to clients in both Newham and Havering.

You will have excellent legal research skills including using online resources and have the ability to apply this to practical situations. Possessing good oral and written communication skills.

In addition you will possess awareness and understanding of client needs alongside excellent client care skills.
