About the team
The Families Together Service is a city-wide team that are looking for Senior Family Support Workers to join our teams across the service. The teams are established and require motivated senior family support workers who have experience of working with children and families and thrive to achieve good outcomes for Children and Families in Birmingham.
You will require a NVQ level four or equivalent qualification for this role.
You will work within our relationship-based, strengths-orientated, family-led practice model. You will require experience of working in a multi-agency forum as you will lead and work within a multi-disciplinary and professional integrated family support and safeguarding service to provide a timely response to the needs of children, young people and their families, acting in accordance with local policies, procedures and priorities
You will use your professional knowledge and skills to work in partnership with other practitioners and professionals, children, young people and their families. Where appropriate you will coordinate the implementation of a multi-agency plan of interventions.
As a senior family support worker, you will deliver evidenced based interventions to positively effect change that safeguard and promotes the welfare of children and young people.
You will be required to establish a high standard of practice in the Family Together space that provides a timely response to children, young people and their families and achieve family outcomes from the Think Family Criteria.
The role will require you to act as a champion in a specific practice area such as domestic violence, substance abuse on behalf of the team/service delivering workshops and providing advice and support where relevant.
You will be responsible to provide a high standard of case recording that is up to date in accordance with our recording policy.
You will be accountable for maintaining and improving practice and performance in line with professional development targets as agreed with the line manager through supervision.
You will need to be a team player working with colleagues in a range of disciplines, sharing knowledge and providing support and advice to deliver the best possible outcomes for local children and their families.
