Systems Support Officer

About the role:

Horsham District Council are looking for a Systems Support Officer to work within the Development and Building Control team, maintaining the systems software and supporting both service areas functions.

As Systems Support Officer you will maintain and enhance the back-office software systems implementing new technologies and procedures appropriate to the Development and Building Control function in liaison with internal and external partners and software suppliers. You will investigate system problems and other requests for technical support to determine and implement the appropriate action. You will support in the production and reporting of Statutory Returns and Performance Indicators associated with the department. You will maintain and develop Word Templates such as letters, notices, and forms that are integrated with the back-office system.

About you:

To succeed as Systems Support Officer you will be experienced in working with corporate wide ICT systems, including system maintenance and support and data analysis. You will be able to communicate with a range of people from different backgrounds, including ethnic, social and professional, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to present complex information in an understandable way. Some knowledge of Development and Building Control would be an advantage and you should be able to identify your own development needs and work with others to share best practice.
