About us
In Camden we are committed to working together to make our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities and nobody gets left behind.
The post holder will deliver Camden’s Well and Warm service to support vulnerable residents who are struggling with their energy bills.
The role
This role is playing an integral part in Camden Council’s work on alleviating fuel poverty in the borough at a time when rising energy costs make such support even more vital.
You will deliver Camden’s Well and Warm home energy advice and support service for council tenants and other residents in the Council’s stock. You will work with tenants and residents to help reduce energy bills, alleviate fuel debt, and apply for any grants or discounts for which they may be eligible.
A key part of the role is to advise residents on practical changes they can make to save money and reduce energy costs. You will also play an important role in promoting the importance of keeping warm for good health, linking residents to appropriate services.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting residents and influencing them to make behavioral changes to reduce energy costs. You will also have experience of undertaking home energy advice visits.
Ideally, you will have an understanding of the issues associated with providing services to residents who may be vulnerable / have high support needs, and have knowledge of domestic energy efficiency, energy billing issues and relevant support available.
A Qualification of NVQ level 3 Energy Awareness 6281-01 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to communicate with local residents and build an excellent rapport, ensuring you keep a good level of professionalism at all times.
Working for Camden
