Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to manage our Capital Projects team. You will contribute to ensuring that, in accordance with the Councils new corporate strategy ‘Our Plan’, the Councils assets are fit for purpose for our staff, communities, residents and visitors alike; and that we achieve our net zero carbon target by 2030. 

The in-house surveying team has responsibility for maintaining our extensive and diverse portfolio of both operational and non-operational premises. The portfolio consists of office buildings, leisure facilities, car parks, commercial premises, bereavement services buildings, social housing properties etc.

Your main function will be to support and manage a small team (currently 5 Nr) of building surveyors with the delivery of a wide range of projects from RIBA stages 0-7 in order to meet the requirements of our capital investment programme. This will include delivering projects personally and managing the use of external multi-disciplinary consultants as required. You will need excellent organisational, time management, communication and people management skills to ensure the capital team continues to deliver a high standard of service to our internal client base.

In addition, duties will include providing professional services and advice including, dilapidations; condition and building surveys; feasibility studies etc.
