An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Adult Social Care to become a permanent Approved Mental Health Professional Lead. As the AMHP Lead you will have responsibility for the development and day-to-day operations of the AMHP service in Sefton, working with our amazing and dedicated team of AMHPs who are spread across Adult Social Care and Emergency Duty Teams. The AMHP Lead should ensure that the service works in a preventative way, ensuring we deliver a safe, responsive and well led service that is caring, compassionate and maximises peoples’ statutory rights.
You will be expected to lead and develop the AMHP Service and oversee all Mental Health Act related activity for the Council. Given the nature of this challenging role, you will be required to work collaboratively with a variety of neighbouring and partner organisations to support the needs of vulnerable citizens and work to support the mental health crisis pathway. You will be expected to provide advice and guidance to colleagues across the system in relation to the application of mental health legislation.
Applicants should have proven management experience or be ready to demonstrate their readiness for the step-up to a management position.
Please note that in order to apply for this post you must be a current approved AMHP and have current experience of working on an AMHP rota. You must have qualified and registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England and have post qualifying experience in Adult Social Care.
