Data Protection and Information Governance Apprentice
Ever wondered what happens to your personal data when you hand it over to Bracknell Forest Council, who makes sure it’s used correctly? If you apply for our new apprenticeship, then the person with those answers could be you.
ICT and Information Governance are looking to increase our cohort of apprentices, this time with an exciting opportunity to work within Data Protection (DP) and Information Governance (IG).
We are proud of what we do at Bracknell Forest Council, proud of our staff and proud of the services we deliver. As an organisation, we have to comply with Information Governance legislation to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information we collect as part of delivering our services and we take that responsibility seriously.
During the Data Protection and Information Governance apprenticeship, you’ll assist in the planning and organising of Information Governance, Ethics and Data Protection activities. You don’t need previous experience in this area just an interest and enthusiasm to learn more and get involved (please see minimum requirements of the role profile and job specification).
What it is like working in our team…
We’re a passionate bunch who enjoy a bit of head scratching and challenge as part of our day job (and a good team lunch). As a Level 4 Apprentice, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get stuck in and learn new skills alongside your colleagues, as well as meeting people and learning about services from across the organisation.
As a team we don’t stand still and find we learn something new every day.
You will be supported to perform the following duties, responsibilities and training…
- Manage, co-ordinate and respond to information requests
- Investigate reported personal data breaches
- Analyse data and present outcomes on risks, trend and performance indicators
- Undertake or assist in the completion of data protection impact assessments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes
The benefits you will experience are…
- An inclusive and social working environment
- Flexible working opportunities including a flexi-time scheme
- Generous annual leave entitlement
- A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre
- Internal sports and social club opportunities
- Discounted leisure centre and gym membership
- Supermarket discount
- An interest free loan for a rail season ticket
What we are looking for…
We’re looking for someone who is curious, is always prepared to learn and happy to get stuck in. A keenness to build good relationships, even during difficult conversations, able to show patience and understanding will help you be successful.
