There has never been a more exciting time to join the Planning team at Broxbourne Council. There are many new and exciting developments including the construction of Sunset Studios Waltham Cross, the regeneration of Waltham Cross Town Centre and the Brookfield Riverside shopping and residential development amongst many more.

If you’re interested in joining us as a Senior Planning Officer within the Development Management team, you will be responsible for a personal caseload comprising a high proportion of major and other planning applications received from across the Borough. This is a unique and exciting, yet challenging role that would suit anyone with the requisite requirements.

If you have a sound working knowledge of the development management process along with a positive attitude and a wish to seek and deliver solutions, then we would like to hear from you. You should be enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated. You must be able to work under your own initiative and also effectively in partnership with Planning colleagues, Developers, Agents, Elected Members and other stakeholders in order to support the Planning Service.

The role requires you to be eligible for membership of the RTPI with a minimum of 3 years' requisite Planning experience, excellent analytical and negotiation skills, and good communication skills; both oral and written. In this role, you will also be required to present reports on behalf of the Service to the Planning Committee, assist and mentor officers and technicians and provide advice and guidance where required. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post. A current, valid driving license is essential.
