Job Advert: Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a highly effective, caring, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. The right candidates will have a proven track record of working with pupils in classroom settings in a similar role

Contract Type:

32.5 hours per week (part time/job share/flexible considered for right candidate). Length of contract initially one year, with potential to increase going forward. Grade 4 SCP 13 – £17,391 (pro rata)

 Job Details:

To support the children with their individual needs, helping them to achieve their goals and to support class teacher as required. The role would suit someone who has experience supporting pupils within the classroom setting.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistants with:

  • Excellent behaviour management skills and good organisation
  • A sense of authority, but with a calm, positive and patient manner
  • An understanding of emotional development and its impact on learning

This job description will set out the duties of the post at the time it was drawn up.  The post holder may be required from time to time to undertake other duties within the school as may be reasonable expected, without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.  This is a common occurrence and would not justify a reconsideration of the grading of the post.
