Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid Working

Ref: CVP 0697

Knowsley is a dynamic, high-performing local authority, at the heart of the Liverpool City-region. We have a culture of achievement and delivery and continue to grow the Borough’s population through our ambitious house building, town centre redevelopment and inward investment plans. This has not happened by accident. It is the result of strong leadership and good governance, supported by the careful management of resources.

The Council’s HR Team is key to this success story. You will have responsibility for managing learning and organisational development activity, to ensure the Council’s Workforce Sufficiency Strategy and our ambitious equality, diversity, and inclusion plans are met.

We want to encourage people to join us so we can develop, nurture, appreciate and retain them. Strategic workforce plans are central to this goal, and you will help to drive this vital work. To do so, you will be a strong influencer, with the ability to understand complex information and use this to design & implement practical policy and organisational development solutions.

You will be a corporate leader with a proven record of improving and transforming services, including evidence of positively changing culture and behaviours. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills and a high degree of political awareness.

As well as supporting colleagues and Elected Members in the Council, you will collaborate with our partners and stakeholders to maximise opportunities for collaboration and engagement, working to develop solutions and new ways of working that support the sustainability of the Borough and the success of Liverpool City Region.

Additionally, as part of the HR senior management team, you will be expected to support a range of key priorities, which could differ over time.

Knowsley Council aspires to recruit and retain a diverse workforce which has the skills and understanding to improve the lives of the people of Knowsley through the provision of quality services responsive to individual, cultural and community needs. We actively encourage applications from under-represented groups including people of colour, those with disabilities and care leavers.
