Equalities Research & Project Officer

Equalities Research & Project Officer

An independent commission on racial equality in the borough was held in 2021 and its recommendations were published in a report in January 2022 and accepted by the Council in February 2022.

The Commission concluded that race inequality was in crisis that demanded an urgent response and called upon Ealing Council, public institutions, and the borough’s employers, to be bold and make a clear commitment in response to the report’s findings.

In accepting the Commission’s findings, the Council has committed to work with partners to develop a robust action plan and agree to develop an ongoing oversight mechanism as a legacy of the commission.

Supporting the Council with scrutiny and oversight is an independent body of 10 “Citizen Tribunal members”, recruited from across the borough to share their knowledge and expertise and hold the council and its partners to account for the delivery of their actions.

About the role

You will be working across Council Directorates, with external partners and stakeholders, providing research, data analysis and insights to influence decision makers in achieving better Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) outcomes and closing inequality gaps identified in the Council’s Corporate Plan and Race Equalities Action Plan.

The role will also provide project administration and secretariat support to the Citizen Tribunal.

We are seeking someone who has a passion and commitment to addressing inclusion, with experience of using data to challenge and enhance performance to positively impact EDI outcomes.

This is a one-year fixed term position and a potential secondment opportunity.

We are ideally looking for someone who can join us as soon as possible.
